I get the template for it to draw it and stuff? It says I can upload my material...but I'm clueless about it...also, I was going to see over there if I could hook up with an artist after I'd written a few strips...

HELP!!!

There's an entire section of the forums devoted to template creating, but there is already a default template that your comic will use as soon as you start uploading pages.

If you don't like the default template, go to your account and click on your comic title - this will take you to the options for your comic. Tab #4 is where you can control your template and there are several different styles you can choose from before you have to worry about creating your own.

Hope that helps. If you post in the Drunk Duck forums you'll find a large number of fellow comic artists willing to help you.

No, the pages have to be jpg, gif or png format -- images, that is.

If you're looking for a place to post your writing, you could try the DD forums.

I am on DD...chuck, I'm also totally ignorant on how to do this...I need to find a program or download something which will allow me to write a script on jpg, png., etc., and then upload it onto my strip, and find an artist to help with the drawing? Is the program to do the strip on DD? If so, where do I find it?

Sorry....I really wanna try this...I have a sock I used to use who will be perfect for the character of the strip.

It doesn't work that way.

You have to make the comic - pictures and all. You or anyone you partner with.

There's no way to just upload a script or automatically add panels.

For example:

My pages are drawn in blue pencil, inked and then scanned into Photoshop, where I add the gutters and borders. Then I open the drawings in Adobe Illustrator and add the dialogue and sound effects. Then I paste all of that work back into Photoshop and hand it off to Steve, who adds color or tone and visual effects in Photoshop.

After that is done, Steve flattens the image and saves it as a jpg for uploading to the Drunk Duck account.

The only thing Drunk Duck does is provide a system for uploading images in a sequential order. For a comic artist, it's really all we need.

________

I don't know of a way for you to make comic strips without something that will let you save your compelted images first. If you need to find someone to work with, I do suggest you ask around in the Drunk Duck forums.

You could always use clip art and add word balloons to them. We have quite a few writers who do that on Drunk Duck.
